Frosty Morning at Windmill Spring Farm

{kitty is ice skating}

The kids were so excited to wake up this morning and see ICE! They investigated all the bird baths and just loved running around on the frosty grass. They were so hoping for snow, but this is going to have to be as close as it gets.

Fire Prevention Parade

Our visit just so happened to fall on the 131st Annual Fire Prevention Parade in Claremont. Wow! What a sight! There were 50+ trucks from all over New Hampshire and Vermont. And even Smokey the Bear! It was fun for the the kids to get bundled up in all their sweaters, coats, hats and mittens. A cool night for these tropical kids.

Montshire Museum

{I loved seeing Lucia wear this sweet sweater that I knit so long ago for Juliana}

Fog

The fog comes
on little cat feet.

It sits looking
over the harbor and city
on silent haunches
and then moves on.

~Carl Sandburg

Grandma brought us to the Montshire Museum this morning and then we had snacks at King Arthur Flour. Doesn't get any better than that!

Leaf Walk

{seeing Daisy again}

Autumn is truly my favorite season, one I have been missing so much in Puerto Rico. This trip is a balm to the soul for me. Crisp, cool days. Bright blue skies. Burning hillsides. Shuffling through leaves. We spend the afternoon walking around the Windmill Spring Farm collecting leaves, hugging chickens, and swinging. It has been three years since we were here last. My babies are growing up!

Tea in the Studio

How quickly these children grow. I was just looking up the post from our last visit to Mary Jane's studio in 2013. Pieter was 3 1/2 and Juliana 1 1/2. Just little, cubby cheeked babies. Pieter clearly remembered the doves and was thrilled to see them again. We came home with three prints of the doves, these definitely are the kids favorite's of Mary Jane's work. It was a sweet visit and over too soon. And that rock. Every child needs a big rock like this in their backyard!
