Beach Day

Pieter did such a good job with school this week that we had an open day for Friday. Nothing like having time for a beach day! This was Lucia's first time to hang out at the beach for a while. We found some shade and she managed to sleep through it all.

Snuggling with Their Favorites

Oh, Pieter sure loves his baby sister. Any chance he gets to hold her he is up for it. And Juliana? She is all over her big, fluffy boy. He never lacks for attention around here. And if you had Hello Kitty underwear, wouldn't you wear them on your head?

Cool Winter Mornings

We are enjoying our cooler mornings now that it is "winter" with the temperature getting down to around 75F in the mornings. These photos sum up what my mornings look like now, but you just can't see the bucket-sized latte. The cat insists on needing a lap, the baby needs a shoulder and the kids zoom from one room to the next on their scooters. Oh, and occasionally we need to fool around and make the baby ride the cat.

This week the town moved the statute of Hostos to a much nicer location on route 2, right at the intersection with the university. The fountains are flowing, the grass is mowed and Hostos even got some beautiful lilies and roses for an opening ceremony. Every place I have been in Puerto Rico it seems there is a statue or plaque to remember this most amazing man that was way ahead his time.

Rooster Wrangling

Ben's love of having the kids ride the cats when they are babies has now turned to Coco. Get ready for some rooster wrangling around here!

A Little Beach Time

{Missy, Pieter, Juliana and 3 week old Lucia!}
{Joanne & Willy}

Jo and Willy were here for such a short visit, but we managed to squeeze in some beach time in Rincon before they headed out on their cruise. It was so fun to have family from Canada visit!

More family!

Photos above by Joanne Meyles

Yesterday we drove to San Juan with Ben's parents and came back with his Aunt Joanne and Uncle Willy. We were so happy to get a note from Jo that they were going to go on a cruise from Puerto Rico to escape a bit of rainy weather in BC. We get to have a short visit before they head back to San Juan to get on their cruise ship. The kids loved showing them the yard and all the treasures that grow in our jungle. And Jo came bearing gifts from Grandma Mina! Crocheted hats for the girls and slippers for Pieter! And a beautiful quilt for Lucia. So thankful for these irreplaceable gifts.
