Could my little girl really be four? Four trips around the sun? This little lover of all things cats is growing up so quickly. Hello Kitty is always a sure bet with Juliana, but I guess I really hit the nail on the head with the legos. What excitement! She loved her tea set from Oma and Opa and her book about sea creatures from Grandma and Grandpa. I always like to make something for the kids. My plan had been to work on a Waldorf doll. I hadn't done anything on it yet as of Lucia's birth, so I thought I'd work on it in the week from Christmas to her birthday. Well, Ben and I were signing some documents on Wednesday and we both thought it was the 29th. Nope, it was the 30th. Juliana's birthday was the next day and I hadn't done a stitch on her doll. So, I found this cute little pattern for a mouse in an Altoid tin, "Wee Mouse Tin House" and changed the ears to make it a cat. I worked on it during the afternoon before her birthday dinner and even had a little help from Jules. Now she has one more kitty for her collection.

Happy Birthday, Juliana! We love you so much!

Slow Days

Lucia is starting to have some more wakeful moments while her brother and sister do lots of games and reading with Oma. They are working through a rather large stack of books. And Coco just loves to let everyone know he is around with a crow.

A Morning of Fun

Photos by Jan van Ee

Oma and Opa have been such a great help with the big kids while I take some slow days with Lucia. Today the they disappeared for the whole morning and didn't come home until lunch time. Scootering at the SK8 park on the bay and lots of sand play. What a great morning!
