Papa out did himself for our Fourth of July celebration. He made a whole bunch of Swedish Fire Torches out of red pine logs. Some burned better than others with different designs that effected the air flow, but they all burned with ease. With all of our cousins visiting and other children at the lake, there were many fires to toast marshmallows with and they actually seemed safer than a big pit fire. They also left hardly any fire residue on the beach. We started the torches around 8PM with the sun still high in the sky and by the time 10PM rolled around they were in their glory as the fireworks exploded in the sky above the lake. A perfect way to celebrate!
