Hiking on Labor Day Weekend

On our long holiday weekend we headed up to Cement Ridge, Wyoming's second highest peak in the Black Hills. We met a nice U.S. Forest Service woman that spends six days of the week up in the tower looking for fires the old-fashioned way. She gifted Pieter with a pair of binoculars and a Smokey the Bear handkerchief for Juliana. Pieter kept them glued to his eyes for the rest of the day. It was a cool, windy day up on the ridge, so we headed down to Roughlock Falls next and had a great hike down to the dam. Juliana is becoming a very good hiker, doing the mile downhill without any trouble at all.
