Modern Cabled Baby Bib

Yarn: Lion Brand Cotton Ease, Lake
Needles: US 8

This beautiful bib is a long needed present for a baby born this past December, Hendrik Benjamin. We think that is a lovely name, as Ben's paternal grandfather's name was Hendrik. This little babe was born in the same hospital in Cambridge that Pieter was born in.

Not only is this bib cute, but it is also practical being knit in machine-washable cotton. My only modifications were to the buttonhole. The directions placed it off center, so I centered it between the cable as follows: k1, p1, k2tog, yo twice (large button), ssk, p1, k1. The added benefit of decreasing with the two k2tog was a tight end that didn’t flare out. The beautiful, vintage button was a gift from a friend's mother's collection.
