Custer State Park

We enjoyed a beautiful fall day in Custer State Park.  Iron Mountain Road/Route 16A is quite an amazing drive with outstanding views:

And beautiful lichen.
The road was laid out by Governor Peter Norbeck and has some very special features, like this tunnel.
I just can't decide which view was best.
After a few walks up on Iron Mountain Road we entered the park and drove around the Wildlife Loop Road. The road lived up to it's name.  We saw several herds of bison, but far and up close,
pronghorns,
a gorgeous coyote,
and really friendly burros.
